Lacewing larvae are small visible insects that are predators for thrips, mealybugs, spider mites, scale, cabbage worms, hornworms, and aphids. The life cycle of a lacewing larvae for indoor houseplants is about 10-14 days. It is very rare for lacewing larvae to reach the adult stage. They are excellent for active infestations, though you can use them preventatively as well.

One bottle contains 1,000 lacewing larvae and eggs in a buckwheat husk substrate. One bottle can treat about 15-20 plants depending on the amount applied for each plant.  It is not recommended to release lacewing larvae with the buckwheat husks directly onto non-soil substrates (LECA, pon, perlite, moss, water, etc.). Please see the Pests and Predators handbook for special release instructions.
